"Facing the Arctic" (2026)
LEGO brics, epoxy resin, light
41 cm x 49 cm, height 21 cm
The work is a LEGO-based shadow sculpture shaped like Greenland seen from above. When illuminated, the sculpture casts a shadow showing an uncertain political figure facing a much larger polar bear. The shadow emphasizes a distortion os scale, reflecting the tension between greedy and naive desires for control and the reality of nature and sovereignty. The work explores the childish mechanisms of power - wanting what belongs to others, reacting with frustration when denied. LEGO as a material highlights play, construction, and oversimplification, but is also a strong reference to Denmark.
The work has been exhibited at Vestjyllands Kunstpavillon in Videbæk, Denmark (2026)
